A fresh beginning of hopes in a quiet village in Galnewa

In the heart of the Galnewa Educational Zone of the Anuradhapura District lies Kaththaragama Primary School, a beacon of hope for around 275 students. For many years, this school has nurtured creativity and learning in the simplest of settings beneath a mango tree, on a makeshift open stage crafted from classroom desks.

Lacking a  proper stage facility, the school has long faced challenges in conducting essential activities such as morning assemblies, student performances, and outdoor learning sessions. Recognizing this critical need, the Principal of Kaththaragama Primary School reached out to the Gammadda team, requesting support for the construction of a proper open stage platform.

Responding with empathy and swift action, the Gammadda initiative moved forward with the support of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Senarathna from Colombo 05, who generously agreed to fund the construction.

On April 5th, the foundation stone was ceremonially laid on the school premises, marking the beginning of a transformative project that will empower students, encourage creativity, and uplift the school environment.
