A new era of clean drinking water begins in Parasangahawewa Village

Parasangaswewa is a remote village located in the Madyama Nuwara Gampalatha Divisional Secretariat of the Anuradhapura District. The village is home to approximately 577 families, who face significant challenges due to the lack of access to clean drinking water.

Currently, the villagers are forced to travel nearly 4 kilometers to fetch safe drinking water, which has become a daily struggle. As a result of prolonged exposure to contaminated water sources, the area has reported 20 cases of kidney disease, highlighting the urgent need for a sustainable solution.

Recognizing this critical issue, Gammadda stepped forward to address the drinking water crisis in the village. In response, a state-of-the-art Reverse Osmosis (RO) water filtration system was constructed and officially handed over to the community on February 16, 2025.

This project was made possible through the generous financial contribution of Mr. P.A.D. Premadasa and Mrs. Ramya Imbulgoda, along with their family, residents of Rajagiriya. Their support has brought new hope to the people of Parasangaswewa, ensuring access to clean and safe drinking water for generations to come.
