Addressing the Clean Drinking Water Issue in Parasangahawewa

Parasangaswewa, a village in Anuradhapura with 577 families, is facing a severe water crisis due to contamination from agricultural waste. This contamination has led to numerous cases of Chronic Kidney Disease among the villagers. Currently, residents are compelled to purchase expensive water from private suppliers.

To address this pressing issue, an RO (Reverse Osmosis) Water Filtration plant will be installed at the Nigrodharama Temple, Parasangaswewa. This initiative is made possible through a generous donation from Mr. P.A. Don Premadasa, Mrs. Ramya Imbulgoda, and their family. The project is set to be inaugurated on August 14, 2024, aims to provide clean drinking water to the community and surrounding areas, representing a significant improvement in the village's water supply.
