Nagavila is located in the Pallama DS division of the Puttalam District and is home to 470 families. The residents are primarily farmers and daily wage laborers. The community has been deprived of clean drinking water for a long period.
Villagers either have to pay high prices for clean drinking water or are forced to consume contaminated water. This lack of access to clean water has resulted in numerous illnesses and kidney ailments among the villagers.
The solution is the installation of an RO filtration plant in Nagavila to provide an uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water free of harmful pollutants to the residents and schoolchildren, protecting them from exposure to kidney disease and other water-borne illnesses. Gammadda stepped forward to address this problem, and the Gammadda team successfully installed an RO Water Filtration System on May 17, 2024.
This project was made possible by a generous contribution from NEXT Manufacturing (Pvt) Ltd and was carried out with the technical support of the Sri Lanka Navy.
