Helagama Kanishta Vidhyalaya is located in the rural Monaragala district and has a history spanning over 100 years. The school accommodates 182 students from grade 1 to 11, who have consistently performed exceptionally well in the Grade 5 Scholarship Exam and GCE Ordinary Level exams in recent years.
However, the school currently lacks sufficient space to accommodate all 182 students, and the construction of a new building with three additional classrooms has been delayed due to financial constraints.
In an effort to improve the lives of the students at Helagama, Gammadda has taken the initiative to complete the construction of this building by April 6, 2024. This project marks a significant turning point for the students, ensuring that education is a basic necessity. The construction is fully funded by the Gammadda General Fund.
