The people of Palupitiya in Wilgamuwa, Matale were suffering from the lack of clean water to drink. In order to access clean drinking water they would either had to pay exorbitant rates to water bowsers or make a multi-kilometer trek to fetch water.
In addition to this they were further burdened by an epidemic of kidney disease which has ravaged this community. There are currently 50 patients in the village- many more have already died. They made their pleas known to Gammadda and Gammadda responded.
Work on a Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Plant commenced on 20/12/2022. This plant is expected to deliver clean drinking water to the residents of Palupitiya and surrounding communities.
