Matara Ketiyape North - Junior School is a government school with approximately one hundred (100) students.
Established in the year 1960, the school has been consistently having issues with inadequate underground pipelines and water storage tanks, adversely affecting students, teachers and parents.
Although the water source that caters the drinking water needs of these students is located about five hundred (500) meters away from the school, due to the frequent damage to the pipe system and water storage system, children's and teachers’ access to drinking water is hindered.
In response to the challenges faced by the students of Matara Ketiyape North - Junior School, the Gammadda team installed a proper water distribution system with a storage tank in the school.
The project was completed and handed over to the students on March 1, 2024.
And the project was fully sponsored by the Engineers Association of Sri Lanka National Engineering Research and Development Center (NERDC).
