Residents of Weherayaya are experiencing an epidemic of Chronic Kidney Diseases due to their contaminated water supply.
Weherayaya is a small village in Wellawaya, Sri Lanka. The village is situated in a beautiful area, surrounded by lush green hills and serene landscapes. However, beneath this beauty lies a stark reality - the villagers' daily struggles with poverty and limited resources. Many villagers do not have access to clean drinking water, and they rely on dirty water from the river or wells for their daily needs. This water is often contaminated with bacteria and parasites, which can cause serious health problems.
Installation of an RO Plant in the village of weherayaya using an existing water source. Construct Water Distribution Point for both students and villagers with access to clean drinking water- free of harmful pollutants. Further, it will reduce the incidence rate of water borne illnesses in the resident population. Moreover, Gammadda will introduce a preventive and periodic maintenance plan to ensure project longevity by forming a Gammadda Saviya Society.
