Summary

Anamaduwa Base Hospital, a cornerstone of healthcare in Puttalam District is currently facing several difficulties with mainly regarding kidney disease treatments and lack of medical equipments.

Challenge

Anamaduwa Base Hospital is dedicated to serving patients not only from the Anamaduwa area but also from numerous surrounding villages. Every day, nearly 500 patients from these regions visit the hospital, many of whom require treatment for kidney disease. Despite its critical role in the community, the hospital faces significant challenges. Currently, the hospital has nearly 600 registered kidney patients.

Solution

Recent efforts have focused on modernizing the dialysis ward to enhance patient comfort and safety. This initiative includes installing advanced medical equipment and a Medical RO Water Filtration System in hospital premises.
