Akkarakala area schools are underdeveloped. Many of these schools do not library facilities to help children expand their knowledge to supplement their education.
A permanent library building was built by Gammadda to house the ever expanding collection of the Kumbukanda library. This library is a fountain of knowledge for these children. This library not only serves Wilgamuwa but 10 other neighboring villages. The library facilitates a deeper understanding of their traditional syllabus.
