A dedicated library is needed to supplement and enrich the education of the children of Nakiyadeniya Junior School and 10 neighboring schools at a cost of Rs. 5 million.
Nakiyadeniya, Aluthwaththa Sri Gunananda junior school is an under developed school in Aluthwaththa education zone, in the Galle District. Teachers and students both struggle with learning resources due to not having a proper library in the school. The principle Venerable Mahinda Thero has requested Gammadda about the requirement through a letter pleading for help. Building a Library in Nakiyadeniya junior school will not only benefit its own students but also about 10 neighborhood schools in the area.
Gammadda, after consulting with Early Childhood Learning Specialists and Librarians came up with a plan of action to bestow upon the Nakiyadeniya community, a dedicated library. These plans were vetted by government engineers. The project will then install Book Racks, Reading Tables, Chairs and Tables to keep files. The project will then furnish the library with appropriate books. A project coordinator will oversee the project to ensure successful implementation. Project Progress will monitored and reported on by Gammadda. Post construction preventive maintenance and upkeep will be done by the village Gammadda Saviya Society.
