The residents of Samagipura are grappling with a devastating surge in Chronic Kidney Diseases, a silent epidemic stemming from their compromised water source. There are more than 550 families who call Samagipura home. They are mainly farmers or daily wage labourers. The difficulties caused due to the lack of proper drinking water facilities is colossal. The villagers' pleas to government officials and civil society members fell on deaf ears. The desperate villagers then made their pleas for clean water known to Gammadda.
Installation of an RO Plant in the village of Samagipura. Gammadda was done on 12/8/2023 including work on installing a Water Storage and Distribution System which is providing the residents of Samagipura and neighboring villages with access to clean drinking water free of harmful pollutants. Further, this initiative will reduce incidence rate of water borne illnesses including kidney disease in the resident population. Moreover, we have introduced a preventive and periodic maintenance plan to ensure project longevity by forming a Gammadda Saviya.
